We are what we do.

We are what we do.

The development of an industrial company is not measured solely by its production capacity, turnover or international presence. It is also reflected in its ability to professionalise management, reduce its impact, integrate ESG criteria and respond to the new demands of industrial supply chains.
For this reason, the achievement of the EcoVadis Bronze Medal by Plásticos Lezo, one of the companies that form part of MAGNIA GROUP, represents an important milestone not only for the company itself, but also for the Group as a whole.
This recognition places Plásticos Lezo among the top 35% of companies assessed by EcoVadis worldwide over the last 12 months and provides an independent assessment of its sustainability management system.
For MAGNIA GROUP, this achievement also reflects one of the principles underpinning our industrial model: supporting technical companies to become stronger, more competitive and better prepared for growth.
At MAGNIA GROUP, we approach sustainability from an industrial and business perspective.
Rather than viewing it as something separate from production, we see it as a factor with an increasingly significant influence on competitiveness, efficiency, internationalisation and access to major industrial customers.
This vision is directly linked to our model as an industrial growth platform. Magnia supports the development of its companies through management professionalisation, industrial investment, innovation, sustainability and international expansion, while preserving their operational autonomy.
Plásticos Lezo’s progress in ESG management is a concrete example of this approach.
EcoVadis is an international platform specialising in the assessment of corporate sustainability performance.
Its methodology assesses each organisation’s management system through policies, actions, results and documented evidence across four key areas:
EcoVadis works with more than 150,000 companies across 220 industries and 180 countries, making its assessment system particularly relevant for organisations operating within international supply chains.
Since 2024, EcoVadis medals have been awarded according to the percentile ranking achieved by assessed organisations.
The Bronze Medal corresponds to the top 35%, meaning that the recognition achieved by Plásticos Lezo confirms its position among the top 35% of companies assessed by EcoVadis over the previous 12 months.
Furthermore, this comparison is not made exclusively against other companies in the plastics industry, but against the overall group of companies assessed by EcoVadis.
One of the particularly relevant aspects of EcoVadis is that its assessment does not simply evaluate corporate commitments or statements.
Its methodology analyses policies, actions and results and requires implemented practices to be supported by documentation and evidence.
This approach is closely aligned with the way we understand growth at MAGNIA GROUP: fewer generic statements and a greater ability to demonstrate tangible progress.
In an industrial company, sustainability is reflected in decisions related to processes, machinery, energy, raw materials, waste, people, suppliers and management systems.
It is precisely in these areas that more efficient, resilient and competitive organisations are built.
Achieving the EcoVadis Bronze Medal is not an isolated initiative at Plásticos Lezo.
In recent years, the company has progressively integrated sustainability into its industrial strategy, seeking to combine the technical requirements of the components it manufactures with increasingly efficient and responsible production.
One of the company’s key areas of progress is the management of its carbon footprint.
Plásticos Lezo had previously registered with Spain’s Carbon Footprint, Offsetting and CO2 Absorption Projects Register, managed by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge.
The company has subsequently taken another step forward by also demonstrating a reduction in its emissions.
The transition from measuring to reducing is particularly significant. Measurement establishes the starting point. Reduction means turning that information into actions capable of delivering tangible improvements.
There is a direct relationship between sustainability and operational excellence.
In an activity such as the injection moulding of technical plastic components, improving process stability can generate benefits that go far beyond productivity.
More stable production can help to:
A rejected component does not represent wasted material alone. It also includes the energy used during manufacturing, machine time and other resources involved in the production process.
For this reason, quality, efficiency and sustainability are becoming increasingly interconnected.
This relationship is particularly relevant within MAGNIA GROUP’s growth model. Our objective is not simply to increase the size of the companies within the Group. We aim to develop technically strong, professionally managed companies capable of competing in increasingly demanding industrial markets.
Another area in which Plásticos Lezo has made progress is the digitalisation of its production processes.
The company’s injection moulding machines are monitored using MES systems, providing information on process performance and facilitating the analysis of production data.
Access to this information makes it possible to identify deviations, analyse performance and make decisions based on objective data.
From a sustainability perspective, greater process control also facilitates the identification of inefficiencies and contributes to reducing consumption and losses.
Digitalisation therefore becomes a cross-functional tool: it improves productivity while also providing greater control over the efficient use of resources.
The circular economy represents another major challenge for the plastics industry.
However, when dealing with technical components, moving towards more circular models requires maintaining a fundamental principle: sustainability cannot compromise the performance required by each application.
The selection of materials for a technical component must take into account factors such as:
Where the characteristics of the application allow it, incorporating recycled materials, reducing material consumption or designing to facilitate recovery and recyclability can help reduce a product’s environmental impact.
The industrial challenge lies in achieving this balance: meeting the required technical performance while using resources as efficiently as possible.
The EcoVadis methodology provides a broader perspective on sustainability.
Alongside environmental performance, it assesses three other major areas: labour and human rights, business ethics and sustainable procurement.
This comprehensive perspective is particularly important for MAGNIA GROUP.
Building industrial companies that are prepared for growth means developing not only their production capabilities, but also stronger management structures, skilled teams, reliable decision-making processes and responsible relationships with suppliers and customers.
In an industrial company, technological development must go hand in hand with the development of its people. Training, safety, working conditions and the ability of teams to operate increasingly automated, digitalised and technically complex processes are all part of a sustainable growth strategy.
Transparency, regulatory compliance and appropriate policies and procedures are becoming increasingly important in B2B relationships.
An industrial customer does not simply assess whether a supplier can manufacture a component correctly. It must also manage the risks associated with the organisations that form part of its value chain.
Sustainability does not end at a company’s own facilities. Suppliers of raw materials, components, energy, logistics and services all contribute to the impact associated with industrial activity.
Responsible supply chain management is therefore becoming increasingly important within the ESG strategies of major industrial groups.
The EcoVadis Bronze Medal is particularly significant in the context of industrial B2B relationships.
Purchasing and supplier approval departments within major industrial groups increasingly assess factors that go beyond price, production capacity or quality.
They also need to understand how their suppliers manage environmental, labour, ethical and supply chain issues.
In this context, having an independent assessment enables Plásticos Lezo to provide structured and comparable information on its sustainability performance.
The company therefore combines its industrial capabilities with a management structure that progressively incorporates ESG criteria.
These capabilities include:
This progress is also consistent with another of MAGNIA GROUP’s strategic growth drivers: the internationalisation of the Group’s companies.
Our growth model considers the development of new markets and customers to be one of the key steps in scaling technical industrial companies and increasing their competitiveness.
For Plásticos Lezo, having an internationally recognised assessment provides an additional reference for potential customers in other markets.
This is particularly relevant in Europe, where ESG criteria are playing an increasingly important role in purchasing processes and supplier approval policies.
Technical capabilities will remain essential. However, the ability to provide data, evidence and robust management systems will increasingly form part of the trust required to establish new industrial relationships.
At MAGNIA GROUP, we view the achievements of our companies from two perspectives.
On the one hand, they belong to each individual company and are the direct result of the work, experience and commitment of its teams.
On the other hand, they help demonstrate the results of a Group strategy focused on professionalising, investing and creating the conditions that enable specialised industrial companies to realise their full potential.
Magnia does not replace the identity or technical expertise of the companies within the Group. We help them move forward.
Our role is to help define growth strategies, provide investment capacity, professionalise structures and processes, and promote areas such as innovation, sustainability and internationalisation, while preserving the operational autonomy and specialist expertise of each company.
In this context, the EcoVadis Bronze Medal achieved by Plásticos Lezo makes one of these growth drivers visible: the integration of sustainability into the management and industrial development of our companies.
Achieving an EcoVadis Medal should not be regarded as the end of the journey.
Medals are valid for 12 months and the assessment methodology itself continues to evolve. Maintaining and improving a company’s position therefore requires ongoing development of policies, objectives, actions, measurement systems and supporting evidence.
This approach is closely aligned with the culture of continuous improvement that characterises industry.
The next steps involve continuing to make progress in areas such as:
The objective is not to accumulate certifications or distinctions. The objective is to ensure that the improvements implemented have a tangible impact on how we produce, manage resources and build relationships with customers, suppliers and teams.
At MAGNIA GROUP, we work to build stronger, professionally managed and more competitive industrial companies that are prepared for growth.
Sustainability is part of that process.
Not because it is a communications trend, but because it directly affects operational efficiency, risk management, relationships with major customers, internationalisation and, ultimately, the value and resilience of an industrial company.
The EcoVadis Bronze Medal achieved by Plásticos Lezo and its position among the top 35% of companies assessed represents another step forward in this direction.
It is a recognition of the work carried out by the team at one of our companies and, at the same time, a tangible example of the direction we aim to continue promoting across MAGNIA GROUP: turning industrial potential into strategic value through investment, professionalisation, innovation, sustainability and internationalisation.
