Plasticos Lezo obtains ISO 14001 certification for its environmental commitment

We are pleased to announce that Plásticas Lezo has reached an important milestone in its commitment to environmental protection by obtaining ISO 14001 certification. This international certification validates Magnia Group’s commitment to effectively manage the environmental risks associated with the activity of injection manufacturing of plastic parts.

 

What is ISO 14001 certification?

ISO 14001 is an international standard that allows companies to demonstrate their commitment to environmental protection through the management of environmental risks associated with their activity. Obtaining this certification involves implementing an effective environmental management system that meets established standards and requirements.

 

Process to obtain certification

The process to obtain ISO 14001 certification has been exhaustive and rigorous. At Plasticos Lezo, an environmental management system was reviewed and implemented, ensuring that all equipment complies with the relevant environmental certifications and regulations. In addition, the environmental process was integrated into our production process, controlling and measuring consumption and waste.

Measures implemented to meet requirements

To meet the requirements of ISO 14001 certification, several specific measures have been implemented:

• Reduction of energy consumption: installation of photovoltaic panels to reduce energy consumption and promote the use of renewable energy.
• Waste Management and Plastic Circularity: We no longer “throw” waste into the commonwealth; Instead, we collaborate with recycling companies to process the material into plastic raw materials.
• Carbon Footprint Calculation: We carry out a detailed calculation of our carbon footprint to understand and reduce our environmental impact.
• Adherence to Operation Clean Sweep® (OCS): We have joined the plastics industry’s global initiative to reduce the loss of pellets to the environment. Our commitment is to achieve “zero pellet losses.”
